The RAC of Australia have come up with a unique approach to tackle road deaths due to inattention. The Attention Powered Car. This car requires you to wear a headset that monitors your brain activity, blink rate, gaze rate and eye movement, effectively measuring if you are paying attention or not.
If the driver’s brain activity is low the car will slow down until the driver starts to pay attention again.
The RAC are trying to reduce the amount of road deaths by focusing our attention on this problem. Bravo, this is an excellent and creative approach to make people think and hopefully take less risks.
We can think of a host of other activities that could use this brain activity headset, so many spring to mind, pun intended!
How about an iphone app that beeps to let you know if someone is paying attention?
